Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Single-vehicle collisions account for more than 60% of all fatalities in auto accidents, up 9.4% from 2019 to 2020. A total of 43% of the participants were injured. In most cases, factors like speeding, alcohol consumption, and unsafe passenger behavior are to blame.
When one or more vehicles collide or a driver strikes another object or person, this is an accident. In any case, being involved in a car crash increases the risk of severe injury or death.
Getting around the United States is impossible without using a motor vehicle, which provides a level of convenience that is hard to beat. Estimates place the number of people hurt in traffic accidents at five per minute and the number of people killed at one every fifteen minutes.
You can reduce these odds by always using a seatbelt, never letting your guard down, and never getting distracted while behind the wheel. There is always the chance of a severe car accident, regardless of the precautions taken.
