[12-03-2023] Contra Costa County, CA – At Least One Person Seriously Injured After Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 4 in Antioch

At least one person was seriously injured after a hit-and-run multi-vehicle collision in Antioch on Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just before 6:00 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4 near Somersville Road.

There were six unidentified vehicles involved in the crash, and one passenger sustained a major but non-life-threatening injury. There was no information about the vehicle in which the victim was riding.

Reports say the driver of one of the involved vehicles fled the scene. At least one firearm was found in the vehicle, but authorities could not provide further information.

Temporary traffic restrictions were imposed on multiple lanes. Anyone who witnessed the accident is urged to contact the authorities.
