What To Do After A Car Accident In Tehama County, CA

Our Tehama County car accident lawyers strongly recommend that you follow these steps to protect your rights after a car accident:

  1. Prioritize Safety — If possible, move your vehicle to a safe spot away from oncoming traffic. Then, turn on your hazard lights to warn other drivers.
  2. Call The Police — Even with no serious injuries, calling the police is a wise choice. You’ll need the police report to file an insurance claim.
  3. Gather Evidence — Take photos and videos of all involved vehicles (even if the damage is minor or not visible), the accident scene, and your injuries. Ask for the insurance details, personal information, and contact numbers of all parties involved. If there are any witnesses, ask for their names and contact information as well.
  4. Seek Medical Attention — Car accidents may also lead to injuries that are not readily apparent. After getting medically evaluated and treated by responding paramedics, request a medical evaluation from the nearest emergency room or a family physician immediately.
  5. Call A Car Accident Attorney — Once a medical professional has evaluated and treated you accordingly, the next step is to seek legal advice. Call our car accident lawyers at (888) 488-1391 so we can help you hold the responsible parties accountable.
