[12-05-2022] Elderly Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Garbage Truck in San PedroAn elderly male pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a garbage truck in San Pedro, Los Angeles, on Monday morning, December 05, 2022.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal pedestrian collision occurred at 5:09 a.m. on Pacific Avenue and 13th Street.

The responders arrived at the scene and declared the local man, reportedly in his 70s, dead from his injuries.

The victim was on a marked crosswalk when he was hit. The truck driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the police.

Pacific Avenue was shut down between the 13th and 14th streets as authorities went on with their investigation.
