A 56-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in a DUI collision in San Diego County on Tuesday night, December 6, 2022.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash transpired around 6:00 p.m. on State Route 78 near Main Street.
Reports state that a 50-year-old 2019 Toyota Camry driver traveling eastbound struck the victim when she attempted to run northward 78 directly in front of the approaching vehicle.
Authorities arrived at the scene and found the victim unconscious.
He was taken to Palomar Hospital, eventually dying from his injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
