Injuries are under investigation following a multi-vehicle collision caused by a stolen vehicle in Koreatown, Los Angeles, on December 08, 2022.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash involving three vehicles occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. near South Normandie Avenue and 6th Street.
A gray Audi SUV was stolen and chased by LAPD officers into the Westlake area, where the driver struck and injured a bicyclist before hitting three more cars 3 miles later in Koreatown.
A male driver who was driving the stolen car was identified to be in his 30s. He was the only occupant at the time of the crash.
The responders arrived at the site to find multiple vehicles with significant damages, including the stolen car.
The male driver fled on foot but was immediately caught. He was then taken into custody. It was unclear whether alcohol or drug was involved.
Unknown injuries, including those to the pursuit driver, may have occurred at the scene. The extent of injuries, however, remains under investigation.
Anyone who may have seen the collision is encouraged to report it to the authorities.
