[12-13-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Truck Driver Hospitalized Following Big Rig Collision on I-15 in Apple Valley

A truck driver was hospitalized after a big rig collision in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County, on Wednesday evening, December 13, 2023.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, the incident occurred at around 7:03 p.m. on Interstate 15, south of the Wild Wash Road off-ramp.

The authorities determined that two big rigs collided. One of the big rigs blew a tire and blocked the roadway. The other truck subsequently struck the first truck, overturning one of the vehicles and trapping its occupant.

The driver of the overturned truck was transported to a local hospital after being impaled and suffering head injuries. The condition of the other truck driver is unknown. The identities of the victims were not available.

No further information was released. An investigation is being conducted to determine what caused the crash.
