Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics
Car accidents can change your life and be very stressful. Because cars are so common, many people don’t think about how dangerous they can be and how serious, even fatal, car accidents can be.
According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) of the U.S. Department of Transportation, 33,654 fatal car accidents in 2018 killed 36,560 people.
These car accidents happen for various reasons, but the most common ones are when people drink and drive, aren’t paying attention, speed, or don’t follow road rules at all.
The driver who caused the accident is responsible for paying the other people involved in the accident, such as those who were hurt in the accident. There are times when both drivers are to blame for a car accident. Even if this happens, one driver might still get money from the other driver.
