[12-18-2022] SUV Struck and Killed Man Riding Scooter in San JacintoAn SUV fatally hit a 35-year-old man riding a scooter in San Jacinto on Sunday night, December 18, 2022.

The deadly collision reportedly transpired around South San Jacinto Avenue near Midway Street.

According to authorities, the victim was traveling northbound on San Jacinto in lanes when the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban hit him.

The driver of the Chevy did not attempt to flee.

Although paramedics tried to save the victim, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The Suburban’s driver stepped forward and identified herself as a party involved. The woman, whose identity was not revealed, was detained but not arrested.

It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, which is still being investigated.
