[12-18-2022] Police Sought Hit-And-Run Driver Who Struck Cyclist in Valley CenterPolice are searching for the hit-and-driver who killed a bicyclist in Valley Center on Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2022.

Reports confirmed that the fatal crash transpired around 5:34 p.m. on Cole Grade Road near Horse Creek Trail.

According to authorities, the victim was riding a green bicycle northbound on the right shoulder when the Ford vehicle, possibly an Expedition or F-Series pickup truck, hit him and fled.
The right front headlight of the car was seen nearby.

Paramedics were called, and they pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene.

It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
