[12-20-2022] Riverside County, CA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 79 Forces Road Closure, Leaves One Injured

Roads were closed after a multi-vehicle collision that injured one person in Winchester on Tuesday afternoon, December 20, 2022.

According to reports, the crash transpired around 5:00 p.m. . on the northbound side of the highway, south of Domenigoni Parkway.

It was unknown what caused the crash, but one motorist was trapped in their vehicle.

Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately extricated the victim who was transferred to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment of moderate to critical injuries.
The other people involved in the collision did not appear to require medical assistance.

Due to the amount of wreckage, firefighters and officials closed both northbound and southbound lanes.

The lane closures were still in effect as of 5:30 p.m.

Investigations into what caused the crash are ongoing.
