Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision Statistics

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that an automobile collision happens in the United States every minute. In 2016, it was predicted that 3,300 people would die in car accidents across California. Even more unexpected, human error accounted for 94% of these occurrences.

National Safety Council statistics show that automobile accidents account for one out of every ten annual fatalities in the United States. Due to these accidents in California, about 3,898 people have been killed, and 2.7 million have been wounded. Between 2013 and 2017, there was a 23.5 percent increase in injuries and fatalities attributable to these causes.

A multi-vehicle collision occurs when three or more vehicles collide. In an accident, up to six cars can be destroyed, and many more can be severely damaged.

Multi-vehicle crashes, unlike traffic accidents, typically end in fatalities, major injuries, and property damage. Getting out of control or being unaware of your surroundings could endanger others around you. In most cases, the likelihood of such collisions is more significant.
