The authorities reported that a fatal traffic accident involving at least two cars might have been caused by a vehicle traveling the wrong way on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Tustin on Sunday, October 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 2:10 a.m. on the southbound freeway near the conversion road from the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway to the Santa Ana (5) Freeway.
Witnesses told the CHP that a white sedan was driving north in the southbound lanes prior to the collision.
Later information stated that a white Toyota Prius and a Subaru Outback were both involved in the collision.
A CHP SigAlert has been issued for the southbound lanes of State Route 55 and Interstate 5 while the investigation is ongoing.
