An early morning collision involving a cement truck caused significant traffic delays for drivers descending the Cajon Pass on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
It occurred at around 4:45 am. just south of Oak Hill Road at the summit of the Cajon Pass.
The powder train truck’s rear trailer flipped onto the freeway for unspecified reasons, blocking lanes.
The driver of a green Toyota Tacoma truck that was also involved pulled over onto the left shoulder of the freeway after it collided with the guardrail.
There were significant delays on the southbound I-15, and traffic was congested from Nisqualli Road to Oak Hill Road due to the accident.
There were traffic jams on several other roads, including Summit Valley Road, Mariposa Road, and even Highway 138 from the Phelan side.
The California Highway Patrol reported at around 7:40 am. that everything had been cleared, and the lane was reopened, allowing traffic to move more freely.
There were no reported injuries, and the Victorville California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
