A family escaped injury following a suspected DUI collision in Oceanside on Sunday night, November 6, 2022.
The crash reportedly occurred around 6:30 p.m. on the 2800 block of Mesa Drive.
When responders arrived on the scene, one person was trapped inside a black GMC Denali pickup truck trunk, and another white SUV was on the road.
The Lexus sedan was struck by the pickup truck.
Police later confirmed that the baby’s parents were inside the SUV at the time of the collision. The man holding the baby inside was believed to be among the victims.
During their investigation, police determined that the suspect who caused the collision may have been under alcohol.
The 40-year-old man was flown by air ambulance to a nearby major trauma center. His condition has not been disclosed.
According to authorities, the family members involved in the crash were not seriously injured and escaped unharmed.
