[06-06-2022] San Diego County, CA - One Person Killed After a Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash in CarlsbadAn unidentified 31-year-old woman was killed following a deadly traffic crash involving a hit-and-run driver in Carlsbad on Monday night, June 6, 2022.

The deadly collision transpired at approximately 9:20 p.m. on the south side of Carlsbad Village Drive, near Tamarack Avenue.

A 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, a 2003 Ford Expedition, and a 2006 Freightliner big rig were involved in the collision. The circumstances leading up to the collision have not been established.

Two people inside the Suburban attempted to flee the scene but were later arrested. The vehicle was reported stolen.

Unfortunately, the Ford Expedition driver was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear whether other people were injured in the mishap.

The two occupants in the Suburban were taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and vehicle theft.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
