According to police, a 51-year-old woman from Lompoc was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Santa Barbara County on Monday, August 8, 2022.
The crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. in the 99 Cents Only Store parking lot.
The 51-year-old was reportedly walking when she was hit by a car.
Witnesses informed police that the woman was run over and knocked to the ground by the car before it fled the scene.
According to the police, the victim had chest and leg injuries, and she is currently being treated in a critical but stable condition at a hospital in Santa Barbara County.
Officers detained Lompoc resident Mary B., 67, on suspicion of felony hit-and-run on Tuesday.
Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
