[08-14-2022] Los Angeles County, CA- 1 Seriously Injured After Big Rig Crash On 5 Freeway

It is proper to seek financial restituti According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was hospitalized for major injuries following a two-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway on Saturday, August 14, 2022.

According to authorities, a big rig collided with a Jeep on the 5 Freeway near Castaic around 11:40 p.m. Saturday. First responders received reports of the accident involving a big rig and a white Jeep on the southbound 5 Freeway near Templin Highway.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Miguel Ornelas reported that the big rig collided with a parked car on the right shoulder, and only one person was transported to the Henry Mayo Newhall hospital.

Due to the accident, a Sig Alert was issued for the No. 4 lane of the southbound 5 Freeway. As of 9 a.m. Sunday, all roads were open.

Units were on the scene for more than an hour. The situation has since been resolved as of 9 a.m. Sunday, the injured patient’s condition was unknown.
