[08-18-2022] Contra Costa County, CA - One Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 273A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 273 on Thursday morning, August 18, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident information page, the collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 273, just north of Happy Valley Road.

According to an initial witness account, the man reportedly dove in front of the southbound Ford Fusion.

There are no other details available.

The CHP conducted an investigation while temporarily closing the slow lane on the highway.
