A 32-year-old man died, and one was injured after a fatal motor vehicle collision in downtown San Diego early Friday morning, August 19, 2022.
Around 2:00 a.m., the collision occurred on 1st Avenue and Ast St. in downtown San Diego.
According to the SDPD, the motorcycle rider broadsided the Prius while driving north after failing to stop abruptly and quickly at a red light on Ash Street.
At the scene, the rider was declared dead.
Meanwhile, the other person involved was a 38-year-old driving a Toyota Prius. Local authorities took him to a hospital with minor injuries.
The identities of the two victims weren’t immediately made public.
According to police, who were still looking into the accident, alcohol was not a factor.
