[10-01-2022] One Person Killed, Several Others Injured in Fiery Car Crash in MeccaAccording to the California Highway Patrol, one person was killed, and several others sustained injuries in a fatal crash in the Indio area late Saturday night, October 1, 2022.

The crash occurred at 11:07 p.m. near Grant Street and 65th Avenue.

An unknown number of additional patients were flown to Desert Regional Medical Center.

The CHP has not provided any additional information, except that at least one vehicle was completely burned down to the rim.

The crash remains under investigation.
