The mishap transpired around 3:16 p.m. at Moreno Beach Drive and Cactus Avenue.

According to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the 17-year-old driver of a gray 2001 Lexus IS300 was declared dead at the scene. The Riverside County coroner’s office identified him as Issac L. of Moreno Valley.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the minor girl passenger was transported to a hospital with severe traumatic injuries.

According to the authorities, six people inside a white 2020 Honda Odyssey suffered minor injuries and were brought to a hospital for treatment.

There was no immediate way to identify accident victims who had been hurt.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the Honda was moving east on Cactus Avenue, and the Lexus was moving north on Moreno Beach Drive.

According to authorities, the Lexus entered the intersection despite a red traffic signal, while the Honda did so on a green movement.

The Lexus at the northeast corner of the intersection struck a metal traffic signal pole after the Honda broadsided it.
