[10-02-2022] San Diego County, CA – Male Died Following a Truck Accident in Bankers Hill

A male died after a fatal pedestrian was hit by a truck that was driving at a high rate of speed in the Bankers Hill neighborhood on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

The mishap transpired around 10 p.m. at 1800 Fifth Ave.

According to the San Diego Police, a 30-year-old man was driving a Penske truck north when his car made a right turn and hit a parked car.

After striking a male pedestrian seated there, the Penske truck driver struck a building on Fifth Avenue’s east side, according to the police.

The unidentified pedestrian passed away at the scene from his wounds.

Meanwhile, the driver was taken to the hospital with serious facial injuries, according to the police.

Authorities say alcohol played a part in the collision, and the Traffic Division officers are looking into it.
