[10-13-2022] Two-Vehicle Crash Resulted in One Fatality in North CountyAccording to the CHP, a passenger of a sedan was killed after a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on Interstate 15 in North County Thursday morning, October 13, 2022

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred about 7:15 a.m. near the Lilac Road Bridge, south of state Route 76.

A semitrailer truck was reportedly involved in a rear-end collision and was parked on the right shoulder of southbound Interstate 15 in North County.

According to CHP Officer Hunter Gerber, the passenger was killed in the collision. The police officer said the sedan’s driver was taken to the hospital via helicopter.

It was hard to tell if anyone was inside the truck. To our knowledge, nobody else was hurt.

Back-ups formed as at least two of the four southbound lanes were closed. Around 10:30 in the morning, all lanes were opened again.

There was no immediate access to additional details.
