[10-20-2022] Sacramento County, CA – Multiple Big Rig Collision Caused One Rig to Burst Into Flames on Interstate 5 near Twin Cities Road

According to the authorities, a jackknifed big rig was engulfed on fire after a multiple big rig crash in northbound Interstate 5 near the Sacramento County line.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash transpired just after 7:00 a.m. near Twin Cities Road.

It is unclear what caused the accident, but the California Highway Patrol reported that three semi-trucks were involved.

After the collision, one semis started a fire that quickly spread and consumed the entire vehicle.

The Spill Prevention & Response crew from the California Department of Fish & Wildlife has also arrived. Officials estimate that 20-30 gallons of fuel entered the Consumnes River due to the crash.

Officials say that other contaminated water also leaked into the river in addition to fire foam.

We are still waiting for official word on casualties and their extent.
