[10-20-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Caltrans Vehicle Blocks Lanes on 710 Freeway

A car struck a Caltrans vehicle in a work zone on the 710 Freeway in the city of Long Beach in the late hours of Thursday, October 20, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol received a report of a collision around 11:30 p.m. on the North 710 Freeway, just south of the 91 Freeway.

The two right lanes on the 710 Freeway were blocked while Caltrans crews worked there.

A car that was in the closed area collided with a parked Caltrans work vehicle that was obstructing the lanes.

It was unclear whether the driver was intoxicated or distracted and whether the collision had resulted in any injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
