According to the authorities, a reckless vehicle driver crashed into a home and injured five people resulting in hospitalizations in East Los Angeles early Sunday morning, October 30, 2022.
The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. near the 5 Freeway off-ramp at South Ditman Avenue.
The car was embedded into the house’s side, dangling above the ground.
According to eyewitnesses, the car “flew” off the highway and crashed into the house.
Five people sustained injuries severe enough to require medical attention. The current state of those individuals is unknown.
It’s also unclear whether all five were riding in the car or some of the injured were inside the house.
No one has been taken into custody as of yet.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver was released without further incident. It’s unknown whether intoxication or speed played a role in the collision.
