[11-07-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - DUI Driver Caused Multi-Car Crash, Hospitalized Two in Santa MonicaThe Santa Monica Police Department reported a multi-vehicle collision caused by a DUI driver that hospitalized two people in Santa Monica on Monday evening, November 7, 2022.

According to Lt. Rudy Flores, SMPD’s Public Information Officer, the crash that involved four vehicles occurred on Pacific Coast Highway just east of McClure Tunnel.

The reports stated that a driver driving under the influence entered the freeway going the wrong direction.

Two people were taken to local hospitals at 7:40 p.m. There was no other information concerning the occupants of the other vehicles.

The four-car crash obstructed the traffic on PCH in both directions. This is where the PCH South connects to the Santa Monica Freeway through the McClure Tunnel.

The California Highway Patrol conducted the investigation into the crash while the SMPD assisted traffic control.
