A local man was severely injured following a train collision in Davis Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2022.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. as the train approached the Davis Amtrak station.
Witnesses reported that the unidentified male was standing behind signs telling people to “stand behind (the) yellow line” on the west passenger platform while facing eastbound.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, the victim was immediately taken to UC Davis Medical Center after sustaining a head injury and possibly a broken leg.
Further investigation of the crash is still underway.
