[11-12-2022] Driver Killed Following Fiery Crash in Los BanosOne driver was killed after a fiery two-vehicle crash in eastern Los Banos early Saturday morning, November 12, 2022.

According to reports, the fatal collision occurred around 6:58 a.m. at Highway 152 and Delta Road intersection.

Authorities report that the Mustang traveled over 120 mph as it approached the intersection in dense fog with a visibility range of 500 to 700 feet.

A 42-year-old Rodriguez S. of Modesto was driving a garbage truck traveling southbound near Highway 152 at a stop sign.

The truck driver could not see the car approaching due to the Mustang’s unsafe speed, inadequate lighting, and foggy conditions.

The garbage truck was turned onto its right side when the front of the Mustang struck its left side.

Authorities report that flames destroyed the Mustang, and the driver died at the scene.

No details have been released about the victim. Meanwhile, the truck driver was unharmed.

There is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision.
