[11-15-2022] 62-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Struck Following Collision in Fountain ValleyA 62-year-old bicyclist was killed after a car struck him in Fountain Valley early Tuesday morning, November 15, 2022.

According to authorities, the deadly collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. close to Sunn Avenue and Los Coches Street intersection.

The 62-year-old Garden Grove resident, Phong K., was likely traveling east when he was hit by a gray Honda CRV, making a U-turn.

As soon as paramedics arrived, they found the victim and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police officials said that the 43-year-old driver of the Honda CRV remained at the scene and appeared to be intoxicated.

Authorities detained him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injury.
