[11-20-2022] One Killed & Two Injured Following Collision in Newport BeachA fatal two-vehicle collision left one driver dead and two injured in Newport Beach Sunday night, November 20, 2022.

Authorities confirmed that the fatal crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. between Hoag Drive and Riverside Avenue.

According to police officials, a Mercedes-Benz driver rear-ended an unoccupied, parked box truck in the 3300 westbound block of Pacific Coast Highway.

It was confirmed that the male driver had died at the scene.

Meanwhile, responders extricated a male and a female passenger from the vehicle.

Both victims were transported to Mission Hospital in an unknown condition.

It was unclear why the driver crashed into the parked truck.

Further investigations are still ongoing.
