Authorities said a 28-year-old male pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Lancaster area on Sunday morning, November 27, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Avenue I east of 80th Street East.
The victim, a Colton resident, was reportedly struck by a 1994 Ford Econoline van traveling east on Avenue I. The driver stopped after the crash and was not detained.
The victim, whose identification was withheld until the family was notified, was declared dead at the scene.
The collision occurred during the hours of darkness since the area had no street lights.
This crash’s origin, including the use of drugs or alcohol, is currently being looked into by the authorities.
