[12-01-2022] Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash Caused by DUI Driver in West CovinaA woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision caused by a DUI driver who ran away from the scene in West Covina on Thursday evening, December 01, 2022.

According to the Covina Police Department, the crash involving three vehicles transpired around 9:10 p.m. at the South Sunset and West Cameron Avenues intersection.

After being brought to a hospital, the woman died from her wounds. Her identity was kept private until her relations were informed.

Witnesses reported that a man in one vehicle fled from the scene. Authorities located the man named Luis B., a 32-year-old Long Beach resident, and discovered he got engaged in an earlier theft.

Banuelos was taken into custody and charged on suspicion of hit-and-run with injuries, assault with a dangerous weapon, and DUI.
