[12-24-2022] DUI Driver Arrested After Hitting Pedestrian in ColtonA 33-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a DUI driver who fled in Colton early Saturday morning, December 24, 2022.

Authorities reported that the fatal crash occurred around 1:25 a.m. at West C Street and Pennsylvania Avenue intersection.

According to reports, the victim was discovered suffering from blunt force trauma in a roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 19-year-old driver, Christopher R., was driving westbound on C Street when he hit the victim and fled the scene.

The suspect was apprehended nearby and charged with vehicular manslaughter.

According to jail records, he was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and faced further accusations of hit-and-run causing death or injury and DUI causing bodily harm.

He is being jailed without bail in place of $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in San Bernardino Superior Court on Wednesday.
