Workplace Accident Statistics

Legally, every employer is in charge of the security and well-being of their workers. Organizations like OSHA and others enforce federal restrictions in the workplace in the United States.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports over 4.2 million work-related illnesses and injuries and over 5,700 work-related fatalities in 2004.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than two-thirds of all American workers sustained workplace injuries in November 2020. Since 2018, this number has remained unchanged.

Despite a decline in industrial injuries, workplace accidents have a high mortality rate: 5,333 people lost their lives at work in 2019, a 2% increase from 2018. It turns out that since 2010, the number of fatalities has risen steadily.

Employers must work hard to create a secure working environment. This calls for the appropriate use of safety gear, emergency plans, spill cleanup techniques, and other precautions. These standards must be met, or there could be fatal consequences.
