A 38-year-old man from Santa Barbara died after a motor vehicle collision on Highway 150 west of Lake Casitas on Tuesday afternoon, August 23, 2022.
The accident happened around 2:35 p.m. on the state highway, also known as Casitas Pass, a rural section between Lake Casitas and Carpinteria.
The rider, identified as Nicholas Ryan C., on Wednesday. He was traveling east on a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A 2022 Mazda CX-9 SUV was driven westbound by a 30-year-old Carpinteria woman who suffered minor injuries.
Cooper crossed over solid double-yellow lines into oncoming traffic as he came up on a turn west of Rameli Ranch for an unknown reason, according to Officer Vince Rangel of the CHP’s Ventura area office.
