According to Sgt. Todd Hylton of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the crash transpired at around 10 a.m. at Alicia Parkway and Paseo de Valencia.

The man suffered fatal injuries. His name was withheld to spare his family any distress.

According to Hylton, authorities questioned the driver, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Between La Paz Road and Alicia Parkway, Paseo De Valencia was shut down, and Hylton reported that the closure was still in effect early on Friday afternoon.
