The California Highway Patrol reported that a fatality involved a driver following a serious collision involving two vehicles on northbound Interstate 15 on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 4:50 a.m., just after the Main Street onramp on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15.
According to a witness, the driver of the dark gray Chevrolet Malibu was speeding in and out of lanes on the northbound I-15 just before the collision.
The black Toyota Camry and the driver of the Chevrolet may have then collided, losing control and rolling over multiple times. Near Mariposa Road, the Toyota came to rest off the right shoulder.
The Chevrolet Malibu ended up in the middle of the construction zone, between the two k-rails. There was no information on the third vehicle, which may have been involved.
Firefighters provided aid to everyone hurt in the collision and discovered the Toyota’s driver had passed away there and then.
The Chevrolet Malibu’s driver sustained only minor injuries. He claimed he remained on the scene and was helpful to the CHP officers. A witness claimed that the driver had no indications of intoxication.
The CHP has not yet disclosed the crash’s cause, and the victim has not yet been identified.
The California Highway Patrol Victorville Office is still investigating the crash.
