[09-18-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – A 35-Year-Old Died After a Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision on US Highway 395

The local authorities reported that a 35-year-old man died after a distracted driver rear-ended him on US Highway 395 on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

The crash transpired around 6:11 p.m. at the US 395 and Auburn Avenue intersection.

According to deputies, who identified him as Christopher D., he was waiting to turn left onto Auburn Avenue when he stopped in the highway’s northbound lane.

David G., a Georgia resident, 49, rear-ended Dixon’s 1995 Chevrolet Caprice while driving in the same direction in a 2015 Toyota Tundra.

According to officials, the collision pushed Dixon’s car into the southbound lane of the freeway, which was broadsided by Juan D.P., 33, of Victorville, who was operating a southbound 2020 Dodge Durango.

During the event, Dixon’s car turned over. He was found to have severe injuries and was later declared dead.

For several hours, Highway 395 between El Mirage Road and Chamberlaine Road was closed in both directions while investigators with the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) looked into the incident.
