DUI Accident Statistics

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drunk driving is directly responsible for about 10,000 annual deaths in the United States. Two out of every five people killed in automobile accidents annually are caused by drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Every year in California, such tragedies kill roughly 2,000 individuals and harm another 30,000. Already, drunk driving is a big problem in this area. Drivers whose alcohol levels are found to be above the limit will face harsh consequences.

Drunk drivers endanger themselves and other motorists when they take unnecessary risks on the road, such as by speeding, swerving, and making other rash decisions. You need to get out of there right away if you feel unsafe or uneasy.

What to Do After a DUI Accident

Never assume anything or help investigators without first talking to an attorney. Victims of accidents who have reason to believe the other motorist was impaired should not waste time in getting in touch with an attorney. While still in shock, some accident victims may really apologize. This will only provide the insurance company with more evidence to dispute your claim.
