[02-02-2023] 10-Year-Old Boy Killed in Arvin Pedestrian AccidentA 10-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a car while on a dirt bike in Arvin on Thursday afternoon, February 02, 2023.

According to the Arvin Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on El Camino Real and Tarver Way.

The child was given life-saving efforts by the paramedics who responded to the scene, but he succumbed to his injuries. He attended Arvin Union School District.

The circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation, but the driver remained at the scene and assisted the authorities in their inquiry. Neither speeding nor alcohol played a role.

On Friday, the school counselors are available for children who require support.
