[02-07-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – One Injured in Baldwin Park Two-Vehicle Collision

One person sustained injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Baldwin Park on Tuesday afternoon, February 07, 2023.

According to the Baldwin Park Police Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department, the crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. at the Frazier Street and Francisquito Avenue intersection.

The circumstances leading to the collision are still being investigated, but a Honda and a red vehicle were involved, with one flipping over on its side.

No one was reportedly trapped inside the wreckage, but the Honda driver sustained minor injuries while the other driver was unharmed.

Authorities are looking further into the cause of the crash, including whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

Two-Vehicle Accident Statistics

It is reported that 3,847 people perished in vehicle collisions in California in the year 2020. Around 2,260 people were killed (or 59%) in events involving a single vehicle, whereas 1,587 people were killed (or 41%) in collisions involving two or more cars. There were a total of 1,378 deaths (36%) occurring in cars, 674 (18%) in pickups and SUVs, 25 (1%) occurring in large trucks, 539 (14%) occurring on motorbikes, 986 (26%) occurring among pedestrians, and 129 (3%) occurring on bicycles.

Another study found that in 2020, 41% of traffic fatalities in the United States were caused by accidents involving two or more cars. Even though they made up less than half of all accidents, multi-vehicle collisions were responsible for the vast majority (77%) of all injuries, 71% of injury wrecks, and 72% of all accidents. It is estimated that in 2020, over 8,000 persons were killed or wounded in angle collisions involving two or more vehicles.
