A person was killed following a two-vehicle collision that sent one of the cars into the front yard of a house in Winnetka, Los Angeles, on Thursday morning, February 09, 2023.
According to Sgt. John Matassa of the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. at 8900 North Winnetka Avenue at the intersection of North Winnetka and Vanowen Street.
The collision that involved a black Tesla and Honda SUV trapped one person inside the wrecked Honda. The man, described as in his 20s, was rescued by the responding firefighters but died at the site. The other driver sustained minor wounds. No other people were reported inside the cars.
The authorities released no further details on their identities and the current state of the injured driver. According to them, the Tesla struck the approaching Honda while making a left turn at the intersection.
The investigation into the crash required the closure of nearby streets. The officer stated that speed and an unsafe turn might have played a role.
