At least two people were injured following a two-vehicle collision where one car overturned in North Fresno on Saturday night, February 11, 2023.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at the Shaw Avenue and North Blackstone Avenue intersection.
The circumstances leading to the crash and the extent of the damage sustained remain unclear, but one of the vehicles involved reportedly flipped over.
Both of the drivers received minor injuries. No further details on their identities, their current condition, the total number of people involved, and other possible injuries were released.
The event is still under investigation by the Fresno police, and motorists are advised of possible congestion in the area.
Two-Vehicle Accident Statistics
In 2020, 3,847 persons lost their lives in automobile accidents in California. A total of 2,260 people were killed in accidents involving a single vehicle (59%), while 1,587 people were killed in accidents involving two or more cars (41%). Although less than half of the total only involved several cars, this type of crash resulted in 77% of all injuries and 71% of all wreck injuries. According to estimates, nearly 8,000 people were killed or injured in angle collisions.
