[04-10-2023] San Diego County, CA – Multi-Vehicle Collision in Encinitas Killed One Person, Another Six Injured

A multi-vehicle collision killed one person and injured six people in Encinitas on a Monday morning, April 10, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:45 a.m. along southbound Interstate 5 near Moonlight Beach.

The collision involved a big rig and three other vehicles.

A 40-year-old woman driving a Chrysler Pacifica struck a Honda Civic, which both hit a big rig. The Chrysler overturned and got struck by a Ford Explorer.

A 33-year-old female passenger succumbed to her injuries while five more got injured, including an infant and three children, all of which got transported to a nearby hospital.

The authorities have dismissed the possibility of alcohol and/or drug use.
