[04-14-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Two Drivers Injured After Big Rig Crash on Highway 138

Two drivers were injured after a big rig crash on Highway 138 in Los Angeles County on Friday afternoon, April 14, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:24 p.m. on Highway 138 near Puzzle Canyon Road.

The CHP, Los Angeles Fire Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision.

One of the drivers who got stuck in the truck received assistance from firefighters. He was extricated from one of the dump trucks and then taken by ground ambulance.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department transported the other truck driver by helicopter to Antelope Valley Medical Center.

One of the dump trucks flipped over, scattering what was determined to be a load of gravel boulders across the road.

Just before 8 o’clock, the California Department of Transportation cleared all the gravel and reopened the highway.

The authorities have not released further details about the crash or the victims.
