A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in North Long Beach on Friday evening, April 14, 2023.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the collision happened around 9:15 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue and Market Street.
According to the first results of the inquiry, the pedestrian was walking outside of the crosswalk when he was hit by a car on Atlantic Avenue heading north.
Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital to treat his injuries. According to LBPD detectives, he was declared dead four days later.
The driver did not remain at the scene following the collision, and officers are still searching for them.
The authorities have not yet released any further information.
