[04-19-2023] Man Died After Truck Driver Ran a Stop Sign at James Rd and Manning AveA service truck driver ran through a stop sign in rural western Fresno County and hit a pickup truck killing a man Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023.

California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at James Road and Manning Avenue around 9:30 a.m.

According to police, the service truck driver was driving north on James Road when he allegedly ran a stop sign and struck a Ford pickup truck. The pickup truck veered into an open dirt field.

Authorities reported that a male in his mid-40s who rode in the pickup’s front passenger seat was killed at the scene.

The pickup truck driver suffered moderate injuries and was brought to a local hospital. The service truck’s driver was unharmed. Alcohol or drug use did not contribute to the collision, according to investigators.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and the service truck’s driver could face charges.
