[04-24-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Fatal Rollover Crash on Southbound I-15 Leaves One Dead

One person is killed, and another is injured after a fatal rollover crash at Interstate 15 on Monday midnight, April 24, 2023.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department received reports around 12:07 a.m. about a crash on southbound I-15, about a mile after Harvard Road.

According to the report, a silver Nissan Armada veered off the highway and onto the right shoulder for unknown reasons.

The car flipped several times before finally coming to rest on its side on the freeway shoulder. A solar-powered camera mounted on a pole next to the guardrail was reportedly damaged when the vehicle collided with it.

Police and rescue workers requested medical evacuation helicopters.

Firefighters extracted the driver from the wreckage but could not treat his injuries. A passenger in unknown condition was transported by ambulance.

CHP has not disclosed the number of people involved or their identities.
